Yes. We can fill a specific gap, add controls capacity alongside your engineers, own a defined workstream, or take responsibility for the complete controls package.
Do we have to outsource the entire controls package?
No. The scope can be matched to what your team wants to retain and what you want us to own.
Can you work to our existing electrical and programming standards?
Yes. We routinely work within customer standards. We may recommend changes when they materially improve safety, reliability, lifecycle support, cost, or maintainability, but we do not change an architecture simply because our preference is different.
Can you help standardize a machine we already build?
Yes. Repeat machinery is often a good candidate for reusable electrical designs, standardized components, common software architecture, repeat panel construction, revision control, and other improvements that reduce reinvention between builds.
Can you build repeat control panels for production machines?
Yes. Repeat OEM panel and controls production is a regular part of our work.
Can you support machines after they ship?
Yes. When appropriate to the OEM relationship, Automation Solutions can support the OEM and can also provide direct support to the OEM’s end customer.
Who owns the PLC/HMI source code and electrical documentation?
Ownership and delivery requirements depend on the project and contract. We define those expectations explicitly rather than assuming the same arrangement applies to every OEM.
When does it make sense to replace a PLC with a custom controller?
Usually when production volume and recurring hardware cost become large enough to justify the additional engineering and lifecycle responsibility of a custom platform. We evaluate unit cost alongside development effort, certification, reliability, serviceability, field replacement, and long-term support before recommending a change.
